German vs. Spanish problem solving

The Sapir-Whorf hypothesis postulates that the conceptual system underlying our language influences the way we categorize the world and, consequently, affects the way in which we reason when tackling a problem.
Although I’m a fervent supporter of the embodied cognition theory when it comes to conceptual systems underlying the linguistic structure of languages, one can see relativists had a point. Clearly there are cross-cultural variations in problem solving, but to which extent are those differences rooted in the language spoken in a community?
